March For Our Lives, Enough Is Enough

After the heart rendering massacre experienced at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida; the students who survived these shootings, thousands of other students, supporters and parents came out, Saturday, on the roads of Washington DC for a protest march to state their demands and protest about the ever-escalating gun violence.

It was termed March for Our Lives. The people demanded a solution for the increasing gun violence. After the 17 students brutally killed in the recent shooting, thousands of people gathered in the city to protest about the lax gun laws and its constant repercussions. People also came out for rallies in New York City, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, Miami, Los Angeles, Maryland, Connecticut and others to protest. Students led and spoke at the rally, so also stars like Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Ariane Grande and others.

A survivor of the shootings remembered her classmates at the rally in a speech and observed silence that lasted for the 6 minutes and 20 seconds the gunman used to take their lives. They demanded action against NRA, an important supporter of Congress and President Trump regarding finances and the gun laws. The rally produced results.

The government took apt steps for controlling such events in future, and President Donald Trump increased the age limit for owning a gun from 18 to 21. The rally also got the support of different celebrities, people who also suffered from gun violence, members of the government and even former President Barack Obama. There is hope that soon it would be a thing of the past.
