In order to rise in the hierarchy of smartphones, Huawei has recently launched P20 and P20 Pro smartphone which its company head claims would give the new iPhone X and Samsung’s recently released S9 and S9+ a run for their money.

The model was launched Tuesday as the Chinese company is looking to overcome a recent setback in the U.S. Huawei was to sell its Mate Pro through AT&T in the U.S. but was unable to with intelligence officials warning consumers not to buy any devices made by the company.

The smartphone has two versions, 5.8 inch P20, and 6.1 inch P20 Pro. Both of these versions are expected to cost less than its flagship Mate 10 Pro. Key features include Huawei’s Kirin 970 artificial intelligence chip to automatically adjust light and contrast when taking a picture of whatever is before the camera lens, dual camera on the P20 for better pictures, an almost bezel-less display, a fingerprint sensor and home button, and no headphone jack.

The camera, made in partnership with Leica, has a triple sensor feature. The back camera packs a punch of 68 megapixels and the selfie camera is 24 megapixels. It also performs well under low light by brightening the image. P20 also has a portrait mode and slow motion effect similar to Apple’s latest iPhones. The target of the company is to offer a product of the same caliber as its competitors but at a lower price.
